JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – UPDATE: Bargersville police were dispatched to an accident on State Road 37 north of State Road 144 Monday morning. It was reported that a car went into a ditch and caught fire.
When police arrived they saw the vehicle on fire and could hear someone inside. After assistance arrived on scene, fire extinguishers were used, but could not put the fire out. Later the Bargersville Fire Department arrived to extinguish the car fire. Then crews say they had to cut the top and both passenger side doors from the car to remove the driver before sending him to the hospital.
Original: The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early Monday morning accident on southbound State Road 37, north of Stones Crossing Road. The call came in at 4:50 a.m.
The driver, who had to be extricated from the vehicle, was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital with what authorities say could be life-threatening injuries.
