Franklin breaks ground on huge, new structure

FRANKLIN, Ind.–The city of Franklin broke ground Thursday on what will become the largest industrial building in Johnson County. The plans for the new 933,825-square-foot facility place it on 63.5 acres near the State Road 44 exit off of Interstate 65.

Last October, Sunbeam Development Corporation, requested a 10-year tax abatement from the city council to build on the property. Franklin Mayor Steve Barnett says that the new development is expected to bring 200-300 new jobs to the area.
