Police investigate accidental shooting


NORTH VERNON, Ind.–The North Vernon Police Department is investigating what has been described as an accidental shooting that occurred Thursday night. Authorities say that Joshua Wray, 26, of North Vernon, was “manipulating a firearm” when it went off. The bullet struck Michael Davenport, 19, of Paris Crossing, in the left cheek and then exited through his right cheek.

Davenport  was taken for treatment to St. Vincent Hospital.
