COLUMBUS, Ind. — Wednesday was a big day for several local high school athletes who signed letters of intent to play college sports.
Columbus North High School conducted a ceremony after school.
Football players Alex Algee signed with the University of Indianapolis and Drew Schoeberl signed with Columbia University.
“Its just a culmination of all that I have dreamed of wanting to play college football since I was a little kid,” said Schoeberl. “Without my coaches and teachers I wouldn’t be where I am at on the football field and in the classroom.”
Ty Bentham will take his soccer talents to Fredonia State in New York, and track star Ben Rankin signed with Grace College.
At Columbus East, Andrew Thomasson signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Drake University. The high school will conduct another signing day ceremony next week.
