COLUMBUS, Ind. – A major central Indiana philanthropic fund has demonstrated its confidence in the Columbus Arts & Entertainment District with a significant monetary donation.
The Efroymson Family Fund has awarded the Columbus Area Arts Council (CAAC) a $25,000 grant for a two-year pilot project to sustain an art gallery and cultural space at 411 Sixth Street. The grant is the lead gift for the venture. The Columbus Visitors Center has pledged $10,000, and the council hopes to collect an additional $15,000 at this year’s Uncommon Cause Gala, their annual fund-raising event.
The first exhibition to be held at the new space will open on Friday, September 7, in conjunction with CAAC’s Art Break Day. Local talent will be featured.
The Efroymson Family Fund was established in 1998 by the then-current generation of a family who has long been involved in community-foundation activities.
