Banned driver caught with meth

Robert A. Hutt

COLUMBUS, Ind.–A Bartholomew County man driving a truck with an expired license plate, near 11th Street and Lafayette Avenue, grabbed the attention of a city patrolman Thursday night. Columbus Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Matt Harris says that Robert A. Hutt, 34, of Columbus, was pulled over for the offense and during questioning was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a permanently-revoked driver’s license. The officer said that Hutt also appeared to be hiding something in his hand during the traffic stop, which allegedly turned out to be methamphetamine.

Hutt was escorted to Bartholomew County Jail, where he was remanded on preliminary charges of driving as a habitual traffic violator and possession of methamphetamine.
