BARGERSVILLE, Ind.–A 16-year-old Bargersivlle girl was injured in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 450W in Johnson County very early Tuesday morning. The girl’s parents had reported her missing to authorities on Monday night, and together they began searching for her.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call of an accident near Bargersville just after midnight and responded to the scene, where they located the missing girl inside the wrecked vehicle. Deputies say her SUV had apparently run off the roadway and she was trapped in the car, 15 feet below the shoulder’s edge under a bridge.
The teenager was extricated from the wreckage, and Lifeline helicopter transported her to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She suffered severe head trauma and a possible broken arm.
