COLUMBUS, Ind.—Bartholomew County Indivisible will be hosting a town hall forum on August 24 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Shreya Hurli says that BCI feels that the more representatives meet with their constituents, the better job they will be able to do and the community will be better off for it. Both Senator Todd Young and Representative Luke Messer have declined the invitation to the town hall. In their place, BCI plans to use stand-ins who will field questions from the audience and answer based on extensive research into each politician’s stances. While both men have declined the current invitation, BCI hopes to conduct the meeting in a way that will attract Senator Young and Representative Messer to attend other town halls during future recesses.
