COLUMBUS, Ind. — Officials from Bartholomew REMC are cautioning customers about an attempted scam.
Consumers are being contacted and asked to provide credit card information because a balance is due and electricity will be shut off if payment is not made. The scam has also been reported to company officials by area businesses.
Bartholomew County REMC workers will never ask for your credit card account information or threaten to shut-off service if immediate payment is not made. Never give a Bartholomew County REMC representative your bank information unless you have initiated the call or contact.
