Bartholomew County woman chosen 500 Festival Princess

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.–A local girl was recently chosen as a 500 Festival Princess for 2018. Molly Connor, a resident of Elizabethtown and a Columbus East High School graduate, was recognized by the festival as being one of Indiana’s most civic-minded and academically-driven young women. Currently, she is a senior at Indiana University majoring in Public Management and Leadership.

In her capacity as 500 Festival Princess, Molly will be provided with once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including involvement with the 500 Festival’s statewide community outreach programs, volunteering at festival events and participating in various Indianapolis Motor Speedway functions, including the pre-race ceremonies and Victory Circle celebration for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500.

Each princess receives a $1,000 scholarship. The 2018 Festival Queen Scholar will be announced on May 19, during the 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, and she is awarded an additional $1,500 scholarship.

This year’s 500 Festival Princesses represent 14 Indiana colleges and 21 cities across the state, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.72.
