COLUMBUS, Ind.–A classically-trained garage band is set to perform in Columbus for the second time in three years. Live On The Plaza, presented by the Columbus Area Arts Council (CAAC), is free and features the group Time for Three, tonight at 7:00, in front of the Bartholomew County Public Library.
The trio is comprised of Nick Kendall, violin; Charles Yang violin; and Ranaan Meyer, double bass. They are known for blending several genres of music with their high-energy showmanship into a unique concert experience. Time for Three performs classical music, original compositions, plus the group’s own arrangements of rock, country, soul and bluegrass hits. Their only rule is “if we like it, we play it.”
CAAC says the group won an Emmy for their PBS special, “Time for Three in Concert.” Career highlights include their Carnegie Hall debut, performances with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and an appearance on “Dancing with the Stars.”
