COLUMBUS, Ind. — The annual fundraiser CANstruction raised more than 38,000 cans of food for local pantries over the weekend.
The canned goods are donated to Love Chapel, Community Center of Hope and Salvation Army pantries in Bartholomew County.
CANstruction is an international design and engineering competition where local teams build gigantic structures completely out of canned food.
Eight local teams competed at FairOaks Mall this year and included Starving Artists, Columbus Sunrise Rotary Club, Toyota, Dorel Juvenile Group and Hawcreek Hauling, CSA Fodrea 4th Graders, Columbus North C4 Engineering Students and Columbus Young Professionals.
