COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Plan Commission voted on Wednesday to make the Central Columbus Neighborhood Plan part of the city’s comprehensive plan and recommend adoption of the same to the city council.
The project calls for mixed-use commercial and light-industrial spaces, varied housing types, and street enhancements, to be achieved with public and private investment. It is the culmination of several months’ collaboration between the city’s planning department and Design Collective, a Baltimore-based consultant group.
The plan focuses on a section of the city extending from 17th Street to 6th Street between Chestnut Street and Greenbelt golf course.
