COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Redevelopment Commission on Monday approved a resolution to engage the surveying services of E.R. Gray & Associates as the next step in extending Poshard Drive by approximately 1,000 feet.
Brian Payne, Columbus Municipal Airport director, told the commission that the extension would make room for two high school soccer fields and create a plat of land that the airport could lease for commercial use. The project will move the soccer fields further to the west than originally envisioned. Payne stressed that the extension would increase the amount of traffic in front of the parcels of land in question.
The survey work is not to exceed $19,600, and the soccer fields are expected to be ready by fall 2019.
