COLUMBUS, Ind.–The final report of the Columbus Riverfront redevelopment project was accepted by the Columbus Redevelopment Commission at a Monday night meeting. The $8.6 million plan submitted by Hitchcock Design Group provides a conceptual direction that construction will one day take. The move concludes Hitchcock’s work for the city.
The next phase of the undertaking will see the city hiring a contractor to draft construction documents to be shown to various regulatory commissions in hopes of gaining approval for construction of designs developed by Hitchcock Design Group.
The project, which encompasses the area between the Second and Third Street bridges, still needs approval of Columbus City Council.
