COLUMBUS, Ind. — A longtime local firefighter has been chosen as the Columbus Township Fire Chief.
Dave Thompson was selected based on his experience and personal recommendations from current and past firefighters of neighboring departments, said Columbus Township Trustee Ben Jackson.
Thompson spent 13 years at the Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Department, working his way from firefighter to chief. He joined Columbus Township Fire and Rescue in 2010 and has been twice awarded the Chief’s Award and Life Saving Medal.
