TRAFALGAR, Ind. — An Indianapolis man was arrested on suspicion of stealing a vehicle from a Trafalgar home.
Eric Snapp, 31, was charged with felony auto theft.
Johnson County deputies say the 1997 GMC Yukon was stolen from a driveway of a home in the 2400 block of West 750S on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
Authorities say the vehicle was pulled over before it was reported stolen. During the traffic stop Eric Snapp identified himself as Jason Snapp, his brother. Police say the suspect knew his brothers birthday and social security information without hesitation.
Detectives interviewed Jason Snapp which led them to believe his brother provided false information. Eric Snapp was located at a Shelby County home where the stolen vehicle was also recovered, police said.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says more arrests are possible.
