Coroner reveals inmate’s cause of death

COLUMBUS, Ind.–A cause of death has been determined in the sudden passing of a Bartholomew County Jail inmate on August 9. The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office says that Cathy Hull, 61, died as the result of acute methamphetamine intoxication as indicated by toxicology reports.

A forensic autopsy was ordered by Senior Deputy Coroner Charlie Deweese and performed on August 11. That investigation revealed no anatomical cause of death, but toxicology results later came back showing a lethal amount of methamphetamine. The autopsy and toxicology reports were then turned over to the investigating law enforcement agency, the Indiana State Police.
