COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police arrested three adults and one juvenile during a counterfeit currency investigation Thursday.
The investigation began around 2 p.m. at a restaurant in the 3400 Jonathan Moore Pike when a report of a fake $20 bill was received. The purchase was small in order to maximize the amount of change returned. Allegedly, two other identical reports were received at about the same time.
The suspects, Kiara Ingram, 20, and Reveonna Barner, 18, both of Indianapolis, Jayla Keys, 20, of Speedway, and a 16-year old juvenile fled the area but were caught on Interstate 65 by Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies. All were charged with counterfeiting. The three adults were taken to the Bartholomew County Jail, and the juvenile was taken to the Bartholomew County Youth Services Center.
This is an ongoing investigation.
