BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind.–The Bartholomew County Council approved several requests at its Tuesday meeting, including 2018 salary ordinances for the Solid Waste Management District and a state-mandated salary increase for Sheriff Matt Myers.

In other action, Judge James Worton and office manager Teresa Million presented the request for a county general/Superior Court 1 additional appropriation, citing an unusually high number of jury trials this year, and more sentencing for serious offenses, leading to more appeals. The county commissioners were given permission to spend revenue collected in rent from office space the county owns at Fox Pointe. Other appropriation requests that were granted include Juvenile Community Corrections and the Veterans Treatment Court.
