Bartholomew Co. Council approves garage funding

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – At its Tuesday evening meeting, the Bartholomew County Council voted on, and approved, a maximum figure of $6 million for a bond to finance a new highway garage. No bids for work have been received yet, but there was near-unanimous consent that the bond would cover at least most of a winning bid.

One “nay” vote was cast by councilman Bill Lentz, who preferred to see the bond maximum set at $4 million, with rainy-day and general-fund money making up the difference.
