COLUMBUS, Ind. – At its Wednesday meeting this week, the Bartholomew County Planning Commission approved the preliminary plat for Driftwood Center, a 13-lot subdivision to be built in German Township, northeast of the Taylorsville interchange of Interstate 65 and U.S. 31.

Access from U.S. 31 would be from Hartman Drive, which already exists and serves commercial activity along the highway. The subject property is currently undeveloped.

Rick Sanders, a surveyor with E.R. Gray & Associates and Mark Pratt of Breeden Realtors, the project’s developer, appeared before the commission and said that they were in agreement with some issues regarding street specifications the commission had wanted to see resolved. “Basically, we’re ready to move forward,” said Pratt.
