COLUMBUS, Ind.–The Columbus Police Department was involved in two separate arrest incidents stemming from domestic disturbances over the weekend.
In the first case, a backyard argument early Friday morning on Lockerbie Drive resulted in a call to police. Lt. Matt Harris, CPD’s public information officer, says that officers spoke with three people at the residence, one of whom falsely identified himself. Law enforcement later discovered the real identity of the man, Aaron Stickans, 36, of Columbus, who had a parole warrant for his arrest.
In the second incident, Harris says two men got into an altercation on Phoenix Court on Saturday night. Officers separated them, only to find them later at 8th Street and Cottage Avenue, fighting again. One of the individuals, Tobias Jenkins, 20, of Columbus, allegedly charged at law enforcement and shouted profanities. Officers say he resisted the first few attempts by police to subdue him, but eventually was placed under arrest. CPD says there was a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Both Stickans and Jenkins were taken to Bartholomew County Jail. Jenkins was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication, illegal consumption, and resisting law enforcement. Stickans faces charges of false informing and the previous Indiana parole warrant.
