COLUMBUS, Ind.–The second half of this week is going to be an exciting time for Indiana, and especially the city of Columbus. The 2018 National Symposium portion of the Exhibit Columbus biennial cycle takes place starting Wednesday in Indianapolis at Newfields.
The event, called Design, Community, and Progressive Preservation, returns to Columbus on Thursday with morning conversations in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, followed by walking and bus tours, a documentary screening at Yes Cinema, an evening conversation at North Christian Church, and the Opening Night Party at the Columbus Pump House. Friday morning and evening conversations will take place at First Christian Church before and after the American Institute of Architects trade show, which is at The Commons from noon to 6.
Saturday offers a chance to meet the 2019 Miller Prize winners who will be installing their works throughout the next year, readying for an exhibition next August.
The event allows attendees to select their symposium package, customize special events, and choose their own tours. Advanced registration has closed, but packages can still be purchased on the day of the events.
