FRANKLIN, Ind.–Wednesday marks the one-month anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Many students across the country plan to walk out of class for 17 minutes to honor the 17 victims of the shooting.

Franklin Community High School has decided to commemorate the tragedy in a different way. Instead of a walkout, FCHS will provide time for students to discuss school safety while honoring the memory of the victims.
