Five-year plan for statewide road initiative announced


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.–Governor Eric Holcomb and Indiana Department of Transportation Commissioner Joe McGuinness announced a construction plan for the first five years of Indiana’s Next Level Roads initiative. The program outlines approximately $4.7 billion in total investment over the next five years, and includes resurfacing nearly 10,000 lane miles of pavement and repairing or replacing approximately 1,300 bridges. Over the next five years, Bartholomew County will receive over $30 million for 32 projects. Johnson County has some major projects on the list which total over $177 million in investments. Jackson County’s chunk of the five-year plan totals over $36 million.
