COLUMBUS, Ind. — An annual event that helps provide food to the needy returns this weekend.
The 18th Annual Empty Bowls dinner will be at Central Middle School beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Local potters make bowls that can be purchased along with a meal of donated homemade soups and breads. The event also features music and entertainment.
Attendees are encouraged to provide soup, bread or dessert. Financial donations are also accepted.
Numerous organizations participate in the event. Last year, more than $10,000 was raised and donated to Love Chapel, Human Services, Hope Community Center and Eastside Community Center.
