INDIANAPOLIS — A public memorial service will be held for former Gov. Edgar Whitcomb in Indianapolis Friday.
The procession will travel through downtown Indianapolis before stopping for a public memorial service at the Statehouse. Gov. Mike Pence is expected to offer remarks round 12 p.m.
Whitcomb, a native of Jennings County, died last week at the age of 98.
The WWII veteran was elected Secretary of State in Indiana in 1966 and Governor in 1968.
