High school basketball season heats up

SOUTH CENTRAL INDIANA–With the end of the local high school football season last Friday night, attention turns to the boys and girls basketball teams for the start of Hoosier Hysteria.

The girls are off to an early start, with the Columbus East Olympi-Annes already winning their third game of the season last Saturday by defeating Franklin Central, 64-57. They have a home game on Tuesday night against Brownstown Central. The East boys game against Noblesville scheduled for Saturday has been postponed for a later date.

The Columbus North girls team hosts Franklin Central Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m., while the boys play their first game of the season at Heritage Christian in Indianapolis. On Saturday night, MOJO 102.9 broadcasts the North Bulldogs/Hauser Jets game from Hope.

Tuesday night on KORN Country 100.3, the Franklin boys will visit Center Grove, with the pregame starting at 7:15 p.m. The Grizzly Cubs also have a Wednesday night contest at Indian Creek.
