Burglars invade Franklin home

FRANKLIN, Ind.–A Franklin home was hit by burglars Friday evening and several firearms, plus thousands of dollars in cash were stolen. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says resident Chad Fowler and his family returned home a little after 8 p.m., and discovered several items missing.

Authorities believe the suspected thieves might have been intending to return to steal other items because television sets, video game systems, and a guitar had been loaded into clothes hampers and left near the front door.

The portion of the residence hit hardest was a room with money, guns and archery supplies. Fowler told officers he thought several firearms were missing from the room, along with $3000-to-$6000 in cash. In order to get the guns and cash, he says that several safes were broken into and emptied of their contents.
