Hoosiers deal with storm aftermath


SOUTH CENTRAL INDIANA–After Friday’s winter storm, the National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a pair of Flood Warnings for Seymour.

Flood Warning at the Muscatatuck River at Wheeler Hollow:
* In effect through Wednesday evening.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 18.0 
  feet Wednesday early afternoon.
* At 18.0 feet... floods area in a few low spots and Woodland areas 
  along the river.
The Flood Warning for the East Fork White River:
* In effect through Tuesday afternoon.
* At 9:45 PM Friday the stage was 10.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by after midnight Saturday and 
  continue to rise to near 14.9 feet by Sunday evening.  The river 
  will fall below flood stage by Tuesday morning.
* At 15.0 feet... lowland agricultural flooding in progress.  County 
  Road 725 N (near Rockford) floods.  Indiana 258 east of Cortland 
  may flood.

In other storm news, Bartholomew and Johnson County Sheriff’s Departments worked throughout Friday, dealing with a number of traffic accidents caused by poor road conditions.

Decatur County customers of Duke Energy lost power Friday night, prompting South Decatur High School to open to take in those affected by the outage.
