JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind.–The Indiana Department of Transportation will begin chip sealing operations on Tuesday for the eastbound lane of State Road 44, between State Roads 135 and 144. Once completed, the focus will shift to the westbound lanes of S.R. 44, in the same stretch.
On Wednesday morning, work will start in the westbound lane of State Road 44 at State Road 135 in Bargersville, and continue to State Road 37 in Martinsville. When finished, crews will reverse course and treat the eastbound lanes back to Bargersville.
Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes during the maintenance, but INDOT pilot vehicles will be on site to guide local residents through the construction.
If all goes according to schedule this week, a fog seal application will be undertaken next week to further overcoat the highway.
