COLUMBUS, Ind. – Ivy Tech Community College Columbus has earned recognition for its surgical technology program.
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs has awarded continuing accreditation to the program.
Accreditation ensures the program adheres to the practices and standards developed by leading industry professionals. It also serves a very important public interest as a tool intended to help assure a well-prepared and qualified workforce providing health care services.
“Continuing accreditation reaffirms the commitment of our Surgical Technology program to provide the best education for our students and prepare them for professional success,” said Steven Combs, Ivy Tech Columbus Campus President.
The Ivy Tech Surgical Technology program prepares students to earn an associate degree and provides a pathway toward a well-paying, in-demand career in the growing healthcare field. Employment of surgical technologists is projected to grow 30 percent by 2022.
