Japan’s ambassador to U.S. visits Seymour


SEYMOUR, Ind.–The city of Seymour recently hosted Japan’s ambassador to the United States, Mr. Shinsuke Sugiyama. Along with Chicago’s consul-general, Mr. Naoki Ito, Sugiyama made his first visit to Indiana on Monday and met with executive director of the Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation Jim Plump, Mayor Craig Luedeman, and executives of multiple businesses with Jackson County connections.

According to Inside Indiana Business, topics discussed in the meeting included workforce, corporate citizenship and trade tariffs. The ambassador and consul general on Monday made Seymour part of their “Grassroots Caravan” tour throughout the United States.
