Johnson Co. Local Food Summit scheduled for Oct. 24


GREENWOOD, Ind.Central Nine Career Center in Greenwood will host the Johnson County Local Food Summit on Tuesday, October 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Before dining on a locally sourced lunch prepared by Central Nine’s culinary students, attendees will hear from a panel of speakers, including a school food service director, a local farmer, family physician, chef/restaurant CEO, and a food distributor. The afternoon will provide an opportunity to break into groups based on a variety of food system topic areas.

This event will provide networking and sharing opportunities for the people, communities, and organizations working to create a local food system that is resilient, economically vibrant, and diverse. The goal is that everyone attending the food summit will learn something new and make more network connections. Creating a more vibrant food system in the community can increase the quality of life for all residents, making healthy food and food access all part of the equation. To register, go to:
