INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Nearly 100 families will be recognized for farms owned by the same family for 100 consecutive years or more.
The Hoosier Homestead program is administered by the Indiana Department of Agriculture and has recognized more than 5,000 farms since 1976. The farms must be more than 20 acres and produce more than $1,000 of agriculture products per year.
In Bartholomew County, the Schulz farm is being recognized for 150 years of continuous operation and in Johnson County, the Long farm will be recognized for 100 years of operation.
