WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ind.–A joint investigation between the Indiana State Police and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a Washington County man on Monday. Sgt. Jerry Goodin of ISP says that the parents of a 14-year-old Bartholomew County girl filed a complaint against Ryan Allen, 22, of Salem, when their daughter went missing on February 10.
Law enforcement authorities believe Allen made arrangements to meet the young girl through Facebook. Police reports indicate that after taking the girl to Salem and spending last Saturday night together, Allen returned the teenager to her residence the next day. After she was safely at home, her parents again contacted the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, who then requested the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg to assist them.
Allen allegedly told an ISP detective he knew the girl’s age. He was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
