GREENSBURG, Ind.–A North Decatur School District bus was involved in an accident Thursday morning around 8:00 that resulted in multiple injuries for the passengers of both vehicles. The Decatur County Sheriff’s Department said that 11 school children and two adults were hurt when a minivan driven by Genna Miller, 35, rear-ended a school bus driven by Linda Jackson, 50, while it was stopped at a railroad crossing on U.S. 421, near State Road 3.

Law enforcement investigators estimate that the driver of the minivan was travelling at about the speed limit of 55 mph at the time of the crash. It is not not known why Miller did not see the stopped school bus, which authorities say had its flashers activated. The 13 individuals injured in the accident were all treated at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. All injuries were not life-threatening.

WRBI radio in Batesville helped with the information gathered for this story.
