BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind.–The Bartholomew County Commissioners set in motion the physical construction of the new county highway garage at their Monday morning meeting. The panel voted to enter agreements with DLZ Indiana LLC for a situation survey that would include boundary and topographic mapping for the land purchase along with architectural services. Once plans have been drawn up by DLZ, Taylor Bros. Construction will manage the construction and implementation of those plans.
Taylor president David Doup said they will be breaking down the project into various bid packages, honoring the commissioners’ request to both maintain the competitive bidding process and allowing as many local contractors to participate in the building of the new facility.
DLZ’s agreements total $332,400, while Taylor Bros. was awarded $237,000 for the work they will be supervising.
