COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus couple had the best of reasons to move up their wedding date by ten months. Adam Cross and Jennifer Jackson had set October 2019 for their nuptials. Then Jackson’s grandfather, Billy Hill, whom she describes as “the glue that holds us together,” was diagnosed with a serious illness.
Eventually, Hill moved into Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. His nurse became aware of how important his attendance at the wedding was to Jennifer and worked with staff to arrange for the ceremony to take place in the Hospice Center Chapel on November 1, 2018. “Words cannot express how much it meant to have him there,” said Jennifer. “It was amazing that he got to see it.”
And Grandpa Billy has a memory that is his for all eternity.
