NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Police in North Vernon have received several calls since Friday regarding suspicious door-to-door salesman.
They attempt to sell something different at each house, police said, including vacuum cleaners, aerosol cans, and surveys.
The possible salesman have been described as two African-American men and an African-American woman. They are driving a minivan that has front driver side damage and a broken passenger side head light, police said.
It is required to have a permit from the mayor’s office for solicitation of products in North Vernon.
“While we know they could be legitimate sales group, The inconsistency of their reasons for going door to door makes us suspicious that they are instead casing neighborhoods for future burglaries,” said Officer Seth Beville with the North Vernon Police Department.
