EDINBURGH, Ind. — Two people are accused of using counterfeit money to pay for rent and pizza.
Johnson County deputies began investigating James M. Purdue, 20, and Christine M. Pettit, 29, both of Columbus, after a pizza delivery driver received fake $20 and $10 bills Jan. 3.
Police went to the Hilltop Motel in Franklin where the delivery was made. Court documents show the motel owner told police that rent was paid with counterfeit money.
Purdue and Pettit were arrested this week in Bartholomew County on charges of felony counterfeiting.
