COLUMBUS, Ind.–At its meeting on Monday, the Columbus Redevelopment Commission approved the provision of a $750,000 workforce development grant funded by tax increment financing (TIF) to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC).
This grant is the third of its kind in that amount in a three-year commitment.
BCSC Superintendent Dr. Jim Roberts told the commission the grant was instrumental in carrying out three programs: iGrad, which focuses on boosting graduation rates; STEM activities, such as promotion and classroom and lab equipment; and transition planning for special needs students and their post-secondary career plans, including paid work experience and teacher training.
