COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Redevelopment Commission approved the cost of multiple land surveys to determine whether land at the Walesboro Airport would be open for future development. The surveys will determine if land previously marked floodplain could be delisted. Airport Director Brian Payne said the surveys will also help speed up the process to have the Department of Defense remove Walesboro from the National Emergency Use Provision list. NEUP gave the Department of Defense the ability to store items at the airport when needed.
