BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind.–After the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by a concerned father on Monday morning, there still are no updates concerning his missing son, Joseph Ross, 25, of Brownstown. Ross went missing from his father’s home in Columbus on Sunday, around 8:00 p.m. Sources say he is believed to have gone into the woods near Amberley Addition. He apparently left his cell phone behind and could have possibly taken a shotgun with him.
Some concerned citizens have wondered why an Everbridge notification has not been sent out regarding the disappearance. Authorities at the sheriff’s department responded by saying the initial circumstances in the case prevented an alert from being initiated. They are now said to be reconsidering the decision.
The Amberley subdivision is near County Road 250E and Clifty Creek. If you have any information about Joseph Ross, call 812-379-1689 or simply dial 9-1-1.
