FRANKLIN, Ind. – Fraud cases are on the rise again in Johnson County. On September 20, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence in Greenwood to investigate a report of fraud. A Mrs. Huck said she had received a voicemail stating that she had four charges pending against her. The message stated that if she didn’t return the call, law enforcement officers would come to her home and arrest her.
The caller did not specify the nature of the charges and Mrs. Huck did not return the call. The number from which the call was placed was (248) 621-7009.
Another patrolman responded to a report from Franklin in which a resident told him that she had received several phone calls telling her that, according to the sheriff’s department, “she owed money and that if she did not pay it, she would be taken to jail. The woman told the officer that she did not send any money. The number from which the calls were placed was 805-317-7719.
