Suspected drug dealer arrested during routine traffic stop

joseph ramseyGREENWOOD, Ind. — Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Shelbyville man on drug charges after a routine traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies stopped Joseph Ramsey, 29, for a traffic violation on State Road 37, near State Road 44. The car Ramsey was driving was not properly registered or titled which prompted more questions. While being quizzed Ramsey became very nervous.

After giving police consent to search him and his vehicle, deputies recovered methamphetamine, digital scales, paraphernalia and more than $900 in cash. Ramsey has been charged with dealing in methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. His bond amount was doubled because Ramsey was out of jail on bail for a meth charge in Rush County.
