Two arrested after stabbing incident

10042016Phillips 10042016BunchCOLUMBUS, Ind. — Two Columbus residents have been arrested following an early Tuesday morning knife fight.

Officers reported to the 5200 block of Regency Drive at 4:30 a.m. on the report of someone suffering a stab wound. After an investigation at the scene, police determined a three-person discussion had led to a heated argument, and then a physical altercation. The victim told police during the argument that Trenton Bunch, 20, pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm. Melinda Phillips, 18, also came up from behind and put a knife to the throat of the victim. Police arrested Bunch and Phillips a short time later in the 2100 block of Chandler Lane. Minor injuries were reported.

Trenton Bunch has been charged with battery with a deadly weapon, and Melinda Phillips was charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon.
