COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two Columbus women are facing charges after a weekend theft investigation.
Initially, officers responded to a report of a stolen cell phone at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, from the 3800 block of 25th Street. Police worked with the victim to use the GPS feature and tracked the phone to the 2300 block of Williamsburg Court.
At the address police made contact with Amanda Brown, 37, and Keshia Dolan, 29. An investigation determined Brown had taken the cell phone without permission, and Dolan had made three retail transactions with a debit card in the cell phone case and local businesses.
Amanda Brown was charged with felony theft and Keshia Dolan was charged with felony fraud. Both were taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
