JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind.–Reports of scams from two would-be victims have brought law enforcement one step closer to catching a group of scammers. Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says two recent cases of fraud have been reported to his department and no one lost any money or personal information in either incident.

In both instances, the callers claimed to be from the Internal Revenue Service and demanded payment for unpaid debts. The telephone numbers used for each call were 253-843-6542 and 202-241-0905.

If you suspect any bogus activity, call the sheriff’s tip line at 317-346-4654.
